Barbara Picht, Kerstin Schoor: Stimmen des Exils. Emigrant:innen in Radio-Interviews
Lecture as part of the Tage des Exils (Days of Exile), organized by the Axel Springer Chair for German-Jewish Literature and Cultural History, Exile and Migration in collaboration with the Selma Stern Center for Jewish Studies Berlin-Brandenburg
The journalist Harald von Troschke conducted interviews with personalities from science, politics and culture in the 1960s to 1980s. Many of them had emigrated during National Socialism. He travelled to them, asked about their lives, emigration experiences and their work in exile. The result was unique conversations of great intensity. The literary scholar Kerstin Schoor and the historian Barbara Picht present the audio archive with audio samples.
The historian Barbara Picht is a research associate for the project The 20th Century in Basic Concepts. A Dictionary of Socio-Political and Cultural Semantics in Germany.
