Doktorand_innensymposium
20 Jul 2020 – 21 Jul 2020

Kunst | Literatur | Stadt. Zum Verhältnis von Geisteswissenschaften und Öffentlichkeit

Venue: Internationales Wissenschaftsforum Heidelberg, Hauptstraße 242, 69117 Heidelberg
Organized by Ángela Calderón Villarino & Inéz-Maria Wellner (Romanic Seminar of the Universität Heidelberg). Eva Geulen is guest of the panel discussion and head of one Workshop.

Once a semester, the Stadt-Heidelberg-Stiftung in cooperation with the International Science Forum Heidelberg offers funds for the organisation of a summer symposium, which is intended to promote the exchange between university and public. The Summer Symposium 2020 will focus on the question of the relevance for the (urban) public of the knowledge produced by art and especially literature studies.
In three workshops, doctoral students from Germany and abroad will question art and literature concepts of French theory formation in the 1970s with regard to their current explosive power for the humanities.
In addition, a public panel discussion at the Kunstverein Heidelberg is the core of the symposium.

Dr. Dr. Florian Arnold (Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart), Prof. Dr. Eva Geulen (Leibniz-Zentrum für Literatur- und Kulturforschung, Berlin), Prof. Dr. Gerhard Poppenberg (Romanisches Seminar) and PD Dr. Oliver Schlaudt (Philosophisches Seminar/Sciences Po Paris), among others, will participate in the discussion. Further guests are Dr. Andrea Edel (Cultural Office Heidelberg/UNESCO Creative City Heidelberg), Prof. Dr. Michael Haus (Institute for Political Science) and Ursula Schöndeling (Heidelberger Kunstverein).
