Lascha Bakradze is Professor of History of the Soviet Union at the Ilia State University Tbilisi, since 2010 he is also the director of the Giorgi Leonidze State Museum of Literature Tbilisi, and one of the founders of the Soviet Past Research Laboratory (SOVLAB).

In 2018, Georgia will be the Guest of Honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair. On this occasion, the Georgian National Book Center and the Soviet Past Research Laboratory Tbilisi (SOVLAB) organize numerous events to promote Georgian literature. The Soviet Past Research Laboratory (SOVLAB) was founded in 2010 by Georgian historians, researchers, journalists and civil activists as a non-governmental organization. It promotes research into the processing of the Soviet history of Georgia.
