“Die Lust am Protest”. Literatur am Fasanenplatz 1911–1933
Reading and talk as part of the series of events accompanying the exhibition “Was sind das für Zeiten? Grosz, Brecht und Piscator” at Kleines Grosz Museum
Detlev Schöttker will host the evening, which will focus on the networks of literary modernism in Berlin-Wilmersdorf. Bertolt Brecht lived on Spichernstraße, George Grosz on Hohenzollerndamm. Writers and publishers, artists and gallery owners met around Fasanenplatz. They made the place a center of literary and artistic life between 1911 and 1933. Hanns Zischler reads texts (poems, prose and dialogues) by Franz Pfemfert, Georg Heym, Arnold Bronnen, Bertolt Brecht, Ernst Toller, Walter Benjamin, Mascha Kaleko, Heinrich Mann and others.
Literary and media scholar Detlev Schöttker is Senior Fellow at the ZfL and research team leader of the project Annotated Edition of the Correspondence between Ernst and Friedrich Georg Jünger (1908–1977).
