South-East Europe has produced a plethora of narratives that contain figures, literary constructions, and conceptual orders of ‘movement.’ The essays in this book investigate these by unfolding a wide variety of perspectives on the following themes:

• Mobility, Migration, and Identity
• Space and Genres
• Empathy, Emotion, and Taboos.

The contributions elucidate the ways in which the concept of ‘movement’ plays an ambiguous, multi-functional, and constantly shifting role in literary and cultural theory—as well as in literary, cultural, and historical narratives—of South-East Europe, a role that oscillates between ‘physical movement’ and ‘internal moves.’
