2nd International Summer academy at the ZfL: »Current tendencies of the interdisciplinary history of concepts«

International Summer Academy of the ZfL

In cultural studies, which are concerned genuinely with historical concepts of meaning, as well as in the history of science, a new interest in conceptual-historical methods can be discerned. Under the headings of transmission and metaphorology, discourse theory and interdisciplinarity, iconology and practices, however, there is a need for a re-reading of conceptual history, which was once essentially shaped by the humanities and hermeneutics. The Center for Literary and Cultural Research Berlin invited doctoral and postdoctoral students to discuss with scholars the multifaceted epistemological significance of conceptual history for cultural studies today.
