CV

Giga Zedania is a professor for philosophy at Ilia State University in Tbilisi, whose rector he was from 2014 until 2022. Since 2022, he is director of the Center for Advanced Studies at Ilia State University. After stops in New York, Budapest, and Bochum, among others, Zedania temporarily worked as a moderator for a Georgian TV channel. He is a council member of the Magna Charta Universitatum Observatory and an Honorary Member of the ZfL since 2022. He was president of the Black Sea University Network, fellow at the Open Society Institute as well as a member of the Shota Rustaveli Science Foundation in Georgia. From 2012 to 2015, Zedania was head of the research project The Cultural Semantics of Georgia between the Caucasus and the Black Sea, a cooperation between the ZfL and the Ilia State University.
