25 Jahre Geisteswissenschaftliche Zentren Berlin
[25 Years of Centers for Advanced Studies in the Humanities]

For the past quarter of a century, the ZAS, ZfL, and ZMO have conducted their research under the umbrella of the Centers for Advanced Studies in the Humanities Berlin (GWZ). For the 25th anniversary of the GWZ, former and current employees and directors throw light on its history. Some give personal accounts of the history of the three centers and the institutions that preceded them. Others describe fields of research that were fundamentally developed at the centers—fields such as experimental pragmatics, the concepts of generation and inheritance, as well as translocality research. Finally, contributions to current research areas such as multilingual language acquisition, style, as well as the exploitation of resources and the destruction of the environment outline prospects for (future) research at the GWZ.
