“Attention! This is Moscow! This is Moscow!

This message is being broadcast by all radio stations in the Soviet Union. The time in Moscow: 10 o’clock and 2 minutes. We are broadcasting a message from TASS on the first flight of a human being into space. On April 12, 1961, the first manned cosmic spaceship named ‘Vostok’ took off from the Soviet Union to orbit the earth. The pilot-cosmonaut of the cosmic spaceship ‘Vostok’ is a citizen of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Major of Aviation Yuri Gagarin.”
