Davi Kopenawa in conversation with Oliver Precht and Paula Macedo Weiß on Der Sturz des Himmels (Berlin: Matthes & Seitz 2024)

Davi Kopenawa is one of the most important advocates of his people, the Yanomami, and a shaman. He is known beyond Brazil and around the world as the leader of the American indigenous people in their fight to preserve the Amazon forest. He was awarded the Alternative Nobel Prize in 2019.

Philosopher and literary scholar Oliver Precht is a postdoctoral researcher with the project Marx in France. The Self-Determination of French Theory (1945–1995).

Paula Macedo Weiß is a Brazilian-German author, curator, and lawyer.

The event will be held in German and Portuguese.
