Cooperation of the ZfL and the Cluster of Excellence Temporal Communities: Doing Literature in a Global Perspective of the Freie Universität Berlin

For a long time style and rhetoric could not be separated categorically. And to this day it remains difficult, to determine their relationship with any transparency. The conference is dedicated to exploring commonalities and differences in historical and systematic perspectives.

Moreover, in the present, the question of how rhetoric and stylistic formations relate to the sphere of action in general and political action in particular, has become particularly urgent. This dimension will be explored as well. Concept- and theory-historical can provide answers as can case studies. The present is the point of departure and occasion to reconsider the changing history of style and rhetoric.

Program

Unfortunately, the event cannot take place in the planned form as a traditional conference. The contributions of some of the planned participants will instead be published in an issue of the ZfL online publication Interjekte.
